"Rob is the most knowledgeable trainer and therapist I have ever met."
Paul R. Smith, CEO PRS Guitars

"I am amazed at how quickly I can see and feel the results in my body... and how quickly it carries over to lifting weights." [after 4 private pilates sessions]
Melissa Schubert, Physical Therapist

"Infant massage with you [Rob Murray] wasn't just touchy-feely, there was a sense of purpose that benefited both my baby and me. Not only with building muscle tone and creating a bond, but benefiting his digestion and elimination."
Danielle, mother

"Excellent class last night, I am glad we found you, and I appreciate your professionalism and knowledge... This is the only exercise that I have ever done that has left me feeling this way -- invigorated; GREAT! I have done weight training, running, and I have three black belts in the martial arts... Pilates is the best type of exercise because it does not bother my joints, but leaves my muscles feeling like I have had a great workout without the exhaustion."

A letter I received from a parent of a young man of whom I am very proud to have helped:

Rob,

Just wanted to thank you for the work you have done during the past 4 1/2 months you have worked with Seth. With your help and guidance he has lost over 20lbs. More then that though, he has learned to eat right and to develop an efficient workout on his own while away at college. When we sent him to you, he thought a milkshake was a protein and french fries were a vegetable. Our goal was to teach Seth how to eat and exercise when he left for college without gaining the "freshman 15". Although both Leslie and I understand the benefits of eating correctly, that was not something we were able to convey to Seth. Thank you for creating that friendship with Seth that enable him to trust in you. We are sure he will be back to workout with you when he is home on break. Please feel free to email him too so that you can keep tabs on him :D. I have attached before and after pictures for you for you file so that you can remember the child that started with you and the man that left.

Thanks,

Dean Benzion

From a massage therapy client:

Hi Rob:

I had some interesting progress on my "condition" over the last couple of days.  I started feeling it pretty intensely late yesterday afternoon and had to meet someone for dinner.  As soon as I got home I got out the frozen shoulder book and the theracane and started working on the various places that I thought might help, including using the fingers on my anterior scalene.  It seemed to help because today I was at a much lower pain level.  When I am not in pain it is much easier for me to concentrate on my posture and I worked hard at keeping my shoulders back throughout the day.  A little while ago, though, I was finding that my left shoulder was tiring so I tried a stretch- it seemed to stretch my pectoralis muscles and my triceps mostly, by placing my left hand behind my back as high up as possible, as if checking for range of motion with the infraspinatus and subscapularis muscles.  I then leaned my back into the wall and it stretched everything in the front and allowed my shoulder to rotate back into an upright position.  It relieved the tired feeling in my shoulder and also helped to relieve the pain that was slowly developing in the area of referred pain on the back of my arm.

I continued to search for anything that I could that felt tender.  I found a trigger point that I thought, at first, was the coracobrachiallis but figured out that it probably wasn't because it wasn't so much under the arm as it was just below the pec.  In fact, when I tried to stretch that muscle by bringing my hand behind my back, my pec got in the way and I could no longer reach the muscle.  In any event, I worked that trigger point out and the pain in the back of my arm completely left me.  I'm going to keep my eye on that area and see how things develop.

I thought you might be interested in what was happening, particularly with my discovery of at least one new trigger point for me that seemed to offer relief and also the stretch that helped me with my posture.

C**** doesn't seem to have much change yet but she is working on her posture and understands that it may be a slow process.

C**** and I just finished the Buchberger exercises for the evening.

When we were finished we did some more stretches.  Her back just has a slight twinge right now.  She actually was getting relief from the exercises in addition to the strengthening of the muscles that we both need to help our posture.  I think we're both headed in the right direction.
